Jane has served as Chief Program Officer at the Foundation since 2021, supporting partners taking action on climate change, reconciliation and Indigenous leadership, and working to decrease systemic barriers faced by equity-deserving groups.

Prior to joining McConnell, Jane worked in nonprofit organizations for 20 years, primarily in the fields of seed and food sovereignty. She held leadership roles with organizations including Santropol Roulant, Equiterre and SeedChange, and has extensive governance experience on the Boards of Directors of the Clean Economy Fund, the Foundation of Greater Montreal, MakeWay, Centraide du Grand-Montréal, and others. Jane is passionate about collaborating with partners to advance ambitious social and environmental objectives rooted in authentic relationships and shared learning.

As a member of the senior leadership team, Jane has played a crucial role in the evolution of the Foundation. The Board looks forward to McConnell’s next chapter with Jane at the helm.

The Board thanks outgoing CEO Lili-Anna Pereša for her leadership, and recognizes her achievements in the role, including: the launch of the focus areas strategy and the impact investing strategy, which includes the goal of 100% impact investing; and the initiation of a capital transfer of $30 million to Indigenous-led philanthropic organizations. The Board thanks Lili-Anna for her contributions in the fulfillment of our Mission and Vision.
