Background of the Org:
Climate Smart Business is a social enterprise that orients small-medium sized enterprises to the business advantages of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by cutting costs and increasing operational efficiency. Climate Smart Business trains staff to develop strategies for reducing energy, fuel and waste emissions.
Sustainability CoLab is a non-profit organization, which supports networks of non-profits as they lead greenhouse gas emission reduction programs. Each organization participating in the network supports businesses in measuring their impact, establishing and achieving sustainability targets, and building systems of peer support.
Grant Description:
Funding from the Foundation will support Climate Smart Business to deliver its turn-key training and software solutions to businesses that are members of a sustainability program offered by an Sustainability CoLab Network Member.
Over the next two years, Climate Smart Business and Sustainability CoLab will:
- Build a network of key partners
- Implement a GHG emissions reduction plan with at least 100 small to medium sized enterprises
- Share results about carbon reduction strategies and about their partnership
