Celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day

We wish to express gratitude to all our partners and shine a light on:

 

First Nations Technology Council

Two different graphic representations of ravens, accompanied by the text: "We celebrate the First Nations Technology Council (FNTC), weaving Indigenous knowledge, culture & ways of being into technology. From FNTC: "Today, prayers and songs will be offered to honour the sun's power and express gratitude for the gifts it provides. For solstice celebration, communities will feast on traditional foods and seasonal harvest to nourish body and spirit." FNTC's logo, the raven, is inspired by a story: Raven stole the sun to illuminate our world, which had previously existed in darkness. Like the Raven, FNTC is changing the world with its light.

 

Centre for First Nations Governance 

Illustration of a tobacco plant and Centre for First Nations Governance logo are accompanied by the following text: We celebrate the Centre for First Nations Governance (CFNG), serving First Nations across the land. From CNFG: "Today we honour the multitude of Indigenous traditions, the joy of belonging and begin proud of one's culture. We welcome the day as an opportunity to reconcile relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people and to learn from one another."

 

Keepers of the Water

The Circle on Philanthropy 

Three pink flowers, accompanied by the following text: We celebrate The Circle on Philanthropy and their work to transform the philanthropic sector to redistribute wealth, activate wisdom and strengthen organizational infrastructure for the purpose of Indigenous peoples, communities and nations. From the Circle "We honour this day and welcome the season's abundance."

 

Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language and Cultural Center

Skateboards designed with Indigenous artwork, accompanied by the following text: We celebrate the Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language and Cultural Center. From the Center: "We celebrate the summer's first day by connecting Indigenous communities through local art and celebrations."
