Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition

Background of the organization

Founded in 2004, the Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition is comprised of local residents dedicated to protecting the Skeena River watershed.  Their activities include informing members about development risks, creating long-term stewardship plans, organizing meetings between stakeholders, and contributing to baseline research on wildlife, water quality, and cultural heritage.

Project description

Funding will support Skeena’s “Peace & Unity” project, which aims to foster collaboration among Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members and scientists to develop climate solutions.
