Background
Founded in 1889, the Old Brewery Mission provides homeless Montreal adults with meals, overnight shelter, transitional residence, clothing and services in an atmosphere of caring and respect. The organization supports and assists its clients as they gain greater stability and autonomy and re-enter society.

For Project New Start OBM’s institutional repositioning initiative to change from an organization that provides the basic necessities of food and shelter to hundreds of homeless individuals every night to one that provides those using the shelter the assistance they need to move out of dependency.
