Let’s Talk Science

Background of the organization

Let’s Talk Science (LTS) is a national charity delivering STEM programs to youth and educators across Canada, reaching 40% of schools. LTS has collaborated with Indigenous communities since 1995, including 10% of First Nations schools. The First Nations Education Administrators Association (FNEAA), founded in 2019, supports First Nations education leaders. LTS and FNEAA have partnered since 2021 to jointly design and deliver culturally grounded STEM initiatives.

Project description

Funding will support the co‑design and delivery of culturally grounded Indigenous STEM (I‑STEM) programming by LTS and FNEAA. The contribution covers salaries for key Indigenous leadership roles and supports developing I‑STEM tools, resources, mentorship and professional development. Program pilots will reach 120 schools across Canada, with significant focus on schools in Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan, strengthening land‑based learning, Indigenous pedagogies and educator retention while enhancing student engagement in STEM.
