Junior Undiscovered Math Prodigies (JUMP)

Background of organization:

JUMP was founded in 1998 by mathematician, playwright and Ashoka Fellow John Mighton, to spread the JUMP Math method, an approach tailored to students struggling with math, especially those from low-income families. JUMP believes that all children can be led to think mathematically, and that with even a modest amount of attention every child will flourish.

Grant description:

This project is part of the group of Applied Dissemination projects supported by the Foundation. For The Partnership Project – Phase II of the Applied Dissemination Project, which makes the JUMP Math method available to more elementary students and schools across the country. Schools and community groups recruit, screen and coordinate volunteer tutors and JUMP provides training.
