Background
Founded in 1995, Green Communities Canada is a national alliance that uses its network of over 25 community-based environmental organizations to implement a suite of programs. One of these, RAIN, works with municipalities to reduce storm-related impacts using low cost methods to divert, retain and absorb excess stormwater. Using three key strategies – Slow it Down, Soak it Up, Keep it Clean – RAIN takes a complex issue and makes it actionable for city planners, commercial property owners, and residents.
