Canadian Community Land Trust Network

Background of the organization 

The Canadian Network of Community Land Trusts (CNCLT) is a non-profit, member-based organization. We are the convening place for CLTs across Canada. The network was first established in 2017 as an ad-hoc, volunteer-based collective in response to renewed interest in the community land trust model and growing challenges within the emerging sector. 

Project description 

Funding will support five start-up CLTs with an equity-deserving group focus to acquire land for affordable housing. The project will contribute to expanding the non-profit housing ecosystem. The CNCLT aims to raise the profile of CLTs, share success stories and advocate for policy changes to support CLTs and address the housing affordability crisis.
