Founded in 1972, Sierra Club of Canada Foundation is a national environmental charity working to protect ecosystems and support community-led climate solutions. With offices in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador, it collaborates with regional partners to advance sustainable ocean development and Indigenous participation in environmental decision-making.
Project description
Funding will support efforts to build public understanding and community participation in the environmental assessment of offshore wind projects in Atlantic Canada. The project will provide technical support to fishers, Indigenous communities, and other ocean users, helping ensure offshore wind development is transparent, inclusive, and environmentally responsible.
