Background of the organization
Founded in 2014, the National Aboriginal Trust Officers Association (NATOA) provides training, education, and networking opportunities to support Indigenous communities in managing trusts and financial resources. A key advisor to the National Indigenous Economic Strategy, NATOA has co-led the Reconciliation and Responsible Investment Initiative (RRII) since 2019, helping Indigenous capital holders align investment practices with community values.
Project description
Funding will support NATOA and RRII operations. RRII will onboard Indigenous trusts, provide investment guidance, and facilitate the Investors and Indigenous Peoples Working Group Canada. NATOA will strengthen its operations, enhance membership engagement, and expand training programs to build Indigenous investment capacity.
