Arctic Energy Alliance

Background of the organization

Founded to support communities across the Northwest Territories (NWT), the Arctic Energy Alliance (AEA) helps reduce the costs and environmental impacts of energy and utility services. AEA delivers federal and territorial programs for home energy audits, building retrofits, and renewable energy installations. With deep local knowledge and trusted relationships, including with Indigenous communities, AEA supports community-led energy planning and capacity building.

Project description

Funding will support the training of local energy champions to lead Community Energy Plans in 13 NWT communities. These plans will identify energy-saving opportunities, implement renewable energy systems, and attract capital investment for long-term community benefit.
