Background of the organization
CityHive is a youth-led organization based in Vancouver with nearly 10 years of experience working to transform the way young people engage in civic leadership and climate action to shape their cities and communities. They focus on building capacity and institutional readiness to create meaningful youth involvement in public decision-making.
Project description
Funding will allow CityHive to train five cohorts, each with 20–25 diverse youth participants, in how municipal climate decisions are made, how change happens, and how to push ambitious policy “over the finish line.” Participants will learn from mentors (municipal staff, practitioners, and community leaders) who work on climate mitigation policies like clean transportation, building decarbonization and electrification.
