Background of the organization
Founded in 2004, Apathy is Boring has been working year-round for more than 20 years to strengthen Canadian democracy by equipping young people with skills, confidence, and opportunities to participate in civic and political life. Grounded in the belief that every person has the right and responsibility to contribute, the organization fosters inclusive participation, elevates diverse voices, and promotes solutions rooted in fairness, equity, justice, and respect for the rule of law.
Project description
Funding will support training youth across Canada to lead community conversations, canvassing and convenings with community leaders and elected officials. The work will also advance Apathy is Boring’s Better Democracy Roadmap, which seeks to deepen democratic participation, ensure public decisions reflect people rather than financial power, and strengthen integrity and honesty in Parliamentary debates.
