Background of the organization
Founded in 2018, the Academy for Sustainable Innovation (ASI) is a national charity that helps people and organizations become leaders on climate action.
They deliver high-quality climate leadership training and capacity-building opportunities tailored to an array of sectors, industries and regions. ASI has had success supporting climate action in housing in BC through the development of an online course in collaboration with the BC Nonprofit Housing Association, BC Housing, and the Aboriginal Housing Management Association. The course is now available to over 600 housing providers in the province.
Project description
Funding will help ASI broaden the impact of this online course by designing customized versions for more housing associations in different regions. These will provide accessible and practical guidance to identify energy inefficiencies, reduce operational costs and take actionable steps to plan retrofits, while supporting residents’ health and well-being.
The Foundation’s contribution will notably be used for staffing, evaluation, and course and video production.
