About the organization

The Toronto Public Library Foundation is a fundraising organization that enhances the Toronto Public Library’s aspirations to be a world’s leading library, making Torontonians more resilient, more knowledgeable, more connected and more successful.

Project description

Funding will support the development of a year-long initiative focused on strengthening social connections through a speaker series and activities that bridge differences and promote civic engagement, while laying the groundwork for a Centre for Democracy. This work aims to inspire informed civic action, and provide a model for other Canadian libraries to broaden impact through partnerships and cross-sector collaboration.
