Shareholder Association for Research & Education (SHARE)

Background of the organization

Founded in 2000, the Shareholder Association for Research & Education (SHARE) is a non-profit organization that provides investment services, research, and education to institutional investors, promoting responsible investment policies and practices. SHARE convenes a network of institutional investors, working to align financial markets with sustainability and climate objectives.

Project description

This contribution will support SHARE in mobilizing institutional investors to advocate for climate policies that facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy. The project will train and engage investors to influence government policies on sustainable finance, including the Canadian sustainable finance taxonomy, mandatory corporate emissions disclosure regulations, maintaining competitive industrial carbon pricing and trade options, and incentivizing job and investment growth through clean technologies and energy development. Through advocacy, collaboration, and media engagement, SHARE aims to strengthen investor action for low-carbon, efficient economic growth.
