Vivre en Ville

Background of the organization

Vivre en Ville, established in 1996, advocates for the necessary transformations of our land and urban planning practices. With an approach rooted in sobriety, proximity and the strengthening of solidarities, they champion solutions which tackle climate change while promoting affordable, inclusive, and resilient communities. Vivre en Ville works closely with the Quebec government as well as local authorities, playing a key role in shaping climate policies and promoting social equity in urban development.

Project description

Funding will support efforts towards low-carbon urban transformations in Québec. Vivre en Ville will gather an Alliance for inclusive climate policies in Quebec, focused on improving equity in all policies related to the design and transformation of urban environments. Vivre en Ville will also empower local organizations in under-resourced communities with research, funding, and expertise to advocate for sustainable and equitable transformations in their neighborhoods.
