Background of the organization
Founded in 1975, the Urban Alliance on Race Relations (UARR) is a charitable organization that works to address systemic racism through education, research, and advocacy. UARR partners with communities and institutions to advance racial equity. In collaboration with the Shareholder Association for Research and Education (SHARE), UARR is leading the Investors for Racial Equity (IRE) initiative to mobilize institutional investors in addressing racial inequities in the financial sector.
Project description
Funding will support UARR in strengthening the Investors for Racial Equity (IRE) Advisory Council, composed of racialized community organizations, to influence investment policies and practices. The project will host workshops and roundtables for investors, asset managers, and racial equity leaders, fostering long-term engagement and systemic change within financial institutions.
