posAbilities

Background of the organization:

posAbilities aims to build and participate in an inclusive community characterized by diversity, hospitality, belonging and respect; where all persons are welcomed and valued for who they are and for the contributions they make.

Based in Burnaby, BC, and with over 600 staff, posAbilities works with people living with developmental disabilities to “lead meaningful and healthy lives by partnering with the community to provide a comprehensive range of person-centred services for individuals and families.”

Grant Description:

To improve and create more responsive aids for people living with disabilities, posAbilities will initiate time-sensitive on-the-ground learning on how to respond during and after a pandemic. By offsetting the costs for hiring consultants with expertise in project design, facilitation, and training, support from the Foundation would accelerate and scale posAbilities’ learning; enabling the organization to test and share innovations. Data and insights accrued will help the disability sector with future pandemic planning, and to be better prepared for a post-pandemic world.
