Ottawa Community Benefits Network

Background of the organization 

Since 2019, more than thirty Ottawa-based organizations have come together to create the Ottawa Community Benefits Network. The network’s seeks to maximize social and economic benefits of major infrastructure projects for all citizens of Ottawa. It focusses on Community Benefits Agreements (CBA), as the best and most accountable means to advance community progress. 

Project description 

Funding will contribute to the project’s capacity and scale to carry out CBA campaigns. OCBN will also work with the City of Ottawa to develop a CBA policy. It will create opportunities for equity-deserving groups to be involved, through apprenticeships and skilled construction jobs, as well as community outreach.
