Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L)

Background:

Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) is a movement to improve the quality of sport in Canada by mapping appropriate types of recreation and sport activity against the physical, psychological, and social development of people through the stages of their lives. It lays out the way that different sports can be made ‘age appropriate’ through training and coaching, and includes guidelines for parental and community involvement to ensure athlete safety, enjoyment, and high performance.

Grant description:

A grant from the Foundation will provide support to establish a “Community Connections Fund” that will match local contributions for CS4L projects, and be used to coordinate the project nationally, provide coaching to communities, and capture lessons for dissemination with key constituencies.
